About Old Oak Barn
Old Oak Barn occupies the west wing of a double barn adjacent to Goat Willow Barn. It sleeps up to 5 people and boasts a double room and a triple room. Additional people can be accommodated via a sofa bed and a travel cot is available for children. The master bedroom has one of the highest bedrooms in Suffolk. What was once a nasty corrugated tin roof has been turned into a half gazed sky light. It gives a superb view of the sky at night - and there is no better place than Suffolk to gaze at the stars. As with all of the barns at Potash, this has been renovated to a very high standard. From the master bedroom, an oak staircase leads down to the ground floor with its light and spacious kitchen/lounge/dining area. French doors lead onto the patio area with a BBQ and tables and chairs.
The Bedrooms and Bathroom
Old Oak sleeps up to 7 guests. It provides two spacious bedrooms. The master bedroom can be either a twin or a double bedroom and provides ensuite shower facilities and plenty of oak beams. The room has a wardrobe, a chest of drawers and bedside cabinets. Floors are elm, providing a beautiful warm and rustic feel. An oak door leads from the lounge into the ground floor bedroom which used to be a piggery and contains a double and single bed. It has a wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets and a wash basin - an ideal room for guests who don't like stairs!
Additional sleeping arrangements are provided by means of a very comfortable sofa bed in the lounge. All sleeping accommodation rooms are supplied with crisp white cotton linen and towels as standard. Adjacent is a Victorian roll-top bath and toilet.
Living Space and Kitchen
The lounge/dining area its own small but powerful wood-burner a sofa and chairs and a TV and DVD player. French doors lead onto the patio area with a BBQ and tables and chairs.The kitchen is open plan and adjoins Old Oaks lounge area.
Again, like all the units it is equipped to a high standard with Stoves range cooker, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. We have a laundry room available for your use.
Leading from the kitchen you enter the centre of the barn with it's magnificent 40ft beamed ceiling. The centre of the barn (20ft x 25ft) is a fabulous space for dining in larger groups and sitting around the huge woodbuner with a glass or two of wine. We have a good selection of puzzles, games, books and DVD's. It's a great space for people to get to know each other - Ideal for two families holidaying together, when we would recommend booking Old Oak and Goat Willow as a block
